About Norway Tools
Norway Tools is an independent set of planning tools for people who live in Norway, work in Norway, or are comparing a Norwegian salary or a move. The pages cover income tax, take-home pay, holiday pay, employer cost, loans, a mortgage sketch, tolls, car costs, pension saving, Norwegian power-price arrangements, child and parental benefits, student loans, rent and moving costs, and university grades.
The tax tools follow figures published for the 2026 income year by Skatteetaten and the Ministry of Finance. Where a price is set by someone else, such as a bank rate, a toll, or a power contract, the calculator asks you to enter it instead of inventing a tariff.
The site is not Skatteetaten, NAV, a bank, a university, or a toll company, and it is not affiliated with them. A result on these pages is not tax advice, a credit decision, or an official assessment.
Each calculator runs in your browser. The starting example is part of the page, so the method and a worked result are visible without creating an account.
How estimates are made and updated
Each calculator page explains its method, assumptions, and any published sources used for rates. Statutory figures are tied to the income or calendar year shown on the page; they are entered into the site and are not live feeds. For prices set by a bank, toll operator, fuel station, or energy supplier, enter the price you want to use. A result can only be as accurate as its inputs and the assumptions listed with it.
If you spot a calculation problem, an outdated figure, or an unclear explanation, use the contact page and include the page address and the relevant inputs. We can then reproduce the result and assess the correction. The site does not claim that an estimate has been reviewed or approved by a public authority or financial professional.
Publisher and review limits
Norway Tools publishes and maintains the calculators and their explanatory pages. Where a page cites an official source, the link is provided so readers can check the relevant rule or rate; the site does not receive live rate feeds, and user-entered prices are not independently verified. We do not claim review by a named accountant, lawyer, engineer, lender, or public authority. Where a result could affect a tax, borrowing, energy, or household decision, confirm it with the responsible provider or a qualified adviser.
